RTK’s Big Recruitment Drive
We are in the middle of a huge recruitment drive to add new beginners to our classes. A WARM WELCOME all of our new members and we hope that you are enjoying learning karate with us. We are pleased that you have chosen RTK to train with. We have had SO MANY fantastic new starters with bags of energy and enthusiasm, so keep up the great work! There is a reason why we are the biggest and best Karate Club around and that is because we are continually evolving and developing the next group of RTK Superstars.
There is great opportunity to progress here. We can help you achieve whatever you want, be it a black belt, competitive karate or just becoming fitter, stronger and healthier. The benefits of training in karate are endless and our club is like one big family.
It’s not just a kids club either. Mums and Dads, bothers and sisters, even Grandparents can get involved. Most of our Instructor team started because of their children. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain. So if you fancy it, get them socks and shoes off next week and give it a go.
Big well done Paul Sensei and Tony Kelly who have been doing the demonstrations and Debbie Sensei who has been working with the Schools. Get in touch if you’d like to see us at one of your School Assemblies.
We are getting quite a few newbies enquiring about Dogi’s (karate uniforms) and licenses. We sell quality cimac or blitz student uniforms with discounts for families. They come complete with a club badge and a white belt. These gi’s won’t fall apart after a few washes either! There are bundles of 2-3 uniforms to help you keep the costs down.
Here is the link to Gi’s, bundles and licenses:
***REGULAR STUDENTS****
I would urge you to book onto your usual classes a bit sooner than you would normally, as we have to continue to limit the numbers we can teach.
Some classes are reaching capacity the day before, as new beginners fill spaces and our regular students are ending up missing out. We are so sorry if this has happened to you this week! Some of the responses from assemblies have been quite overwhelming.
September Success
Our squad had a very busy September indeed competing at the Commonwealth Karate Championships in Birmingham and the AMA Championships the following week. We had a great time and won some medals to boot! If you’d like to read about who went and how our squad got on please click onto the following news article:
Results: Commonwealths & AMA Championships
Our squad will be back in action at our Club Championships on 6th November and the Manchester Youth Open with Yanagi Kai on 20th November.
We can also confirm Jaime Pratley will be making his International debut at the WKF K1 Youth League Venice Cup, Italy in December. Exciting times ahead with a few more International trips planned for both training and competitions in 2023.
Our September Brown and Black Belt Course & Grading was very successful with over 80 students and Instructors training hard. Five students completed Kyu gradings to 3rd, 2nd or 1st Kyu and Charlie Eyre earned his 2nd Dan Black Belt. He is just 15 years old. What a tremendous achievement. Kyu Gradings in Classes
We have been conducting Kyu Gradings in classes throughout September and early October. There has been a brilliant standard so far with the vast majority of students passing. Well done to all the students who have taken part in the gradings at Heywood, Haslingden and Darwen over the last week. It is great to see so many white belts getting their first grade. It has been a pleasure to meet you all and we look forward to seeing you make further progress. Keep up the fantastic work everyone and well done to our wonderful Instructors who never fail to keep our standards consistently high.
We have the following Kyu Gradings remaining in October:
Thursday 13th October - Standish & Aspull Dojo
Saturday 15th October - Handforth Dojo
Monday 17th October - Little Lever Dojo
Thursday 20th October - Stockton Heath Dojo
You will put forward by your Instructor when he/she feels that you are ready. You will then receive an invite via email to book onto the grading. It is important to do this at least two days before the grading so that we can send the correct belts to the grading. If you think you have been missed out, please email us at info@redtigerkarateclub.co.uk and we will look into it for you. Always make sure we have your correct information stored in the APP (including your email address) or our messages will not come through. You can update your info at any time by logging in to our Dojo Login App and clicking on the 3 lines to bring up the menu. Then click ‘my data’, update your information if necessary, scroll to the bottom and click ‘save’.
