RTK Club Championships Entry Has Closed! Good Luck!

Thank you to all the students who have booked to take part in our RTK Club Championships 2022.

Entry has now closed. The medals have arrived and WE ARE READY!

We are hard at work preparing the categories and timetable for the day. Remember, you only need to attend the events you have booked into. You do not need to be there all day. The timetable for all 4 Tatami's (Competition areas) will be posted on our website from Wednesday 2nd November onward.

Last few reminders:

Address:

Dojo: Kearsley Academy, Springfield Road, Bolton. BL4 8HY.

Doors open at 9.45am for 10am start

Make sure you are familiar with the rules of the event you have entered. Our Championships is fun and friendly and we are there to help you as much as we can.

It is about gaining experience and familiarising yourself with competitive karate. You will get to spend time with your Karate friends and family.

Everyone will be rewarded with a certificate - so congratulations, you have already won!

Most of our competitors are CHILDREN and we want them to enjoy it and be PROUD of themselves for taking part. REMEMBER........

  • Karate is a MARTIAL ART, where RESPECT and DISCIPLINE come first

  • The officials are VOLUNTEERS and HUMAN BEINGS. We will try our best!

  • It is not the WKF World Championships

We need the help of our Club parents and guardians to make sure that the day is a successful one. You can help us in the following ways:

  • Be supportive and positive

  • Praise your child for being brave enough to take part

  • Encourage - without adding pressure to win

  • Respect the officials and the decisions made

  • Relax, chat to other parents and enjoy the day. If you are relaxed and happy, your child is more likely to be relaxed and perform better

  • Win or lose, focus on what went right. It is the coaches job to work on what went wrong

  • Arrive early and make sure your child has everything they need

  • Stay in the seating area when your child is competing, do not distract them

Advice for Competitors

Arrive early enough to warm up and practise before you compete.

Bring your license book so that we can stamp it for an event. These will count towards your black belt.

You should be wearing a clean and ironed Karate Uniform with our Club badge sewn on the left chest. If you do not have a club badge, you can order one from our online shop.

If you have entered any Kumite categories, you will need to bring your Gloves, Shin and Instep Protectors and Gum Shield. Groin Guards are not compulsory but are recommended. Please make sure all your equipment is clean. All equipment is available to buy from our online shop if you need anything.

Please check that you have been entered into the correct categories. If you have graded or had a birthday, you might be in the wrong group. Also, we may need to merge some categories if we didn't have enough competitors. It is always good for you to make sure you have been put in the right group. Contact us if you can't see your name or if we have made any mistakes - info@redtigerkarateclub.co.uk

Spectators, friends and family members are more than welcome to come and watch. It is free of charge to spectate. Junior competitors will need to be supervised by their parents or guardians whilst at the Championships. All of our Instructors will busy officiating and judging all day. If you are bringing little ones, please keep hold of them in the competition areas, do not allow them to get too close to the Tatami's.

Remember, you aren't just competing for yourself, you are representing your dojo and Instructor. Stockton Heath Class and Jon Sensei are the reigning Champions. Let's see who can earn some points for their Dojo.

Gold Medal = 3 points

Silver Medal = 2 points

Bronze Medal = 1 point

Taking Part = 1 point

Online Shop items including Club Hoodies, Adidas Tops, Uniforms, Holdalls and Training Equipment will be available to buy on the day. Snacks and drinks will also be available to purchase.

There is no official photographer at this event so you are invited and encouraged to take your own photographs. We even have a podium for the medal winners!

Good Luck Everyone!

Sensei Rachael :-)
