Jaime Pratley Sensei & Gary Pratley Sensei attend the WKF Youth League Venice 2024

Jaime Pratley Sensei and Gary Pratley Sensei travelled to Venice, Italy last week to take part in the WKF Karate 1 Youth League. This was the third time Jaime Sensei has taken part in this competition and is his second WKF International event this year.

He is making excellent progress with his Kata training and trains extremely hard every day both in the dojo and at the gym. He takes part in weekly training sessions with EKF England Coach Kelly Horsfall Sensei and links up with fellow England Squad members. Jaime Sensei does everything he can to develop his training and gain as much experience and mat time as he possibly can. We are always proud of Jaime Sensei, his karate and the way he conducts himself. he is a great ambassador for the Club and is becoming an excellent athlete.

He’s moved up in age group this year so his results haven’t always fairly reflected the effort he puts in. There was no medal this event for Jaime Sensei but he is competing with the very best juniors in the World. Keep up the outstanding work.

Gary Sensei is so supportive of Jaime Sensei and made the following comments:

“And that's a wrap. Home from the Venice K1 youth league and an end to the competition season for this year.

Good to catch up with old friends and make some new ones and to have some valuable family time.

Not the end we wanted but this is competition Karate. Things happen you can't explain them, you can't predict them it's a case of gaining the experience and knowledge and moving forward.

On reflection I think it's been a successful year for Jaime moving up a age group, we've seen massive improvements across the board, we've had a few medals along the way and some top placings and performances throughout the season.

I'm very proud of Jaime but as your father its my privilege. Don't be too disappointed with yourself, your determination and strength of character never cease to amaze me you'll achieve your goals I'm sure of it.

Many thanks to Paul & rachael Wolstencroft Sensei and everyone at RTK for all your continued support.
Massive thanks to England Coach Kelly Horsfall Sensei for your time, support and belief in him this year such an improvement, onwards and upwards.”

Many thanks to everyone who has sent words of encouragement and covered classes whilst Jaime and Gary Sensei have been away. Thanks also to Julie Moran who co-ordinates all of our competition entries. It is always greatly appreciated.
