Students Christmas Party - Total Ninja

Every year we have a Sensei's Christmas do and this year we thought it would be great to organise something fun that all students and their families can take part in. We are going to Total Ninja to take part in the largest indoor obstacle course and inflatable park in the UK.

Cost: £18 per person including grip socks. Payment to be made in advance to secure your place.

How to book: Email your names and sock sizes (junior or adult) to info@redtigerkarateclub.co.uk and we will send you some BACS details to pay.

All are welcome! Kids, parents, siblings etc. As long as you are aged over 4 years and are fit enough to take part, you can get involved.

Good Luck to the RTK Squad on Sunday

Our Squad members are due to compete this Sunday at the Manchester Youth Karate Open at the George Carnell Sports Hub. Good luck to all who have entered. This is a high level competition and you will gain some valuable experience. Our coaches will be with you supporting on the day so do your best, represent our Club with honour and respect and enjoy yourselves!

EKF Kata Squad Member Jaime Pratley Sensei will be travelling to Venice in December to take part in the WKF Youth Cup. Good luck to Jaime Sensei who once again continues to gain experience at the highest level. We are proud of you as always!

Three new Dojos opening this month

Welcome to all the new beginners starting at the following new evening classes:

Devonshire Road Primary School in Bolton begins this Thursday evening (14th) with Darren Williams Sensei. Places still available.
St Andrews CE Primary School in Ramsbottom, Bury begins on Tuesday 19th November with Micke Beckwith Sensei. This class is already full to capacity and we are operating a waiting list.
St John the Evangelist School in Bromley Cross, Bolton begins on Monday 25th November with Callum Sensei. Places still available.

Beginners are advised to wear loose fitting clothing and bring a drink with them. We hope you enjoy our classes.

Cadet Leader & Assistant Instructor Rewards Class and Last Grading of 2024

When: Sunday 1st December

Venue: Kearsley Academy, Springfield Rd, Kearsley, Bolton. BL4 8HY

Times: Cadet Leader & Assistant Class - 11:00am-12:30pm. Grading: 1:00pm-3:00pm

We will be rewarding all of our Cadet Leaders and Assistant Instructors with medals at this session so please try your best to attend.

Winter Course and Dan Grading Results

Many thanks to all the students who came along to support this event and train with Simon Bligh Sensei 6th Dan and Paul Wolstencroft Sensei 6th Dan. The next Dan Grading has been booked for Sunday 11th May 2025. Well done to Horwich Student Joe Rutter who won Student of the Dan Grading. He was delighted to pick up his massive trophy on Monday evening!

South Manchester Grading Results

A South Manchester grading was held on Sunday 10th November at Stretford Sports Village. Many thanks to all who made it and successfully attempted their first or next grades. We were impressed with the high standard and effort shown throughout. We thank you all (students and spectators) for respectfully observing the 2 minutes silence in Remembrance of our fallen soldiers.

Well done to everyone who took part especially those earning their Brown Belts and above including: Vikki C, Becky M, Esmay D, Dexter W, Carlo S, Phil B, Robert S and Caitlin L. Congratulations to Harry Hunter-Walsh from the Altrincham Dojo for Student of the Grading - amazing student.

Our Next Major Event: Student of the Year Awards

Student of the Year 2024 Awards is due to take place in December and is an invitation only course. Sensei's have been given their nomination forms and will be choosing their candidates (only 2 per class) over the next week.

When: Saturday 14th December from 1:00pm-3:30pm

Invitation only, forms to be returned by Friday 29th November at the very latest.

Japan Trip 2025

RTK are organising our annual Japan Training Trip over the next couple of weeks. This will take place between the end of May and start of June 2025. Full details will be available soon. We cannot wait to visit the SKIF Hombu Dojo and train with the Japanese Masters and students again.
