Two new classes open in February!

Welcome to all the beginners who have joined us this month at our new Lowercroft Primary School and Fairfield Community Primary School classes. We hope you enjoy it and it's the beginning of your journey to Black Belt.

Both classes are full to capacity but we do have vacancies for new Cadet Leaders. If you are live in the Bury/Bolton or Heywood area, are under 16 and are interested in starting to help out, please contact us.

Classes are OPEN during half term

Just a reminder that the majority of classes are open as normal during half term. If you can book it on the APP, it is running. We hope you enjoy the week off School, but don't forget to come an see us and burn some energy off at karate!  

Duke of Edinburgh Reports

We have a number of students are completing the volunteering or physical sections of the D of E award. If you need us to submit a D of E assessors report, we are always happy to do this. It can be done online by the club and is much easier for the Sensei's. Just send your participant ID, which section you are completing and which level of award you are doing over to: info@redtigerkarateclub.co.uk 

We have a few gradings coming up this month including: 

  • Chantlers Primary School in Bury on Tuesday 14th February

  • St Marks Primary School in Worsley on Thursday 16th February 

  • Lacey Green Primary Academy in Wilmslow on Friday 17th February 

  • Romiley Methodist Church in Romiley on Monday 27th February

  • 2nd Kyu's and 1st Kyu's (Senior Brown Belts) Gradings on Sunday 26th February  

  • St Cuthberts Primary School in Wigan on Tuesday 28th February 

Good luck to all of our students attempting their first or next grades. 

Our big Club Kyu Grading is back in March for students in the North Manchester, Bolton and Lancashire classes. The majority of South Manchester, Cheshire and Stockport dojos will be holding class gradings throughout March.  

#Fitness Bootcamp 2 and Flexibility & Padwork course - This Sunday

​Date: Sunday 19th February 2023

​Time: 11am-1pm

​Kearsley Academy, Springfield Road, Bolton, BL4 8HY 

Cost: Usual class fees apply - £6.50 for 1, £5.50 each for 2 in the same family and £5.00 each for 3 or more

No need to book in advance, you can pay cash or card on the day.

This class is open to all students, parents, friends, relatives and beginners. we do not practise karate at this course. It is just fitness, stretching and a bit of padwork. It will be fun. You don't need any equipment whatsoever although if you have a pair of mitts, that would be useful. We will sign cards and licenses if you want to bring those to this event.

Brown and Black Belt Course followed by 2nd Kyu and 1st Kyu Grading

​Date: Sunday 26th February 2023

​Time: 12pm-2pm

Grading to follow 2.15pm-4pm (approximately, could finish earlier)

​Venue: Kearsley Academy, Springfield Road, Bolton, BL4 8HY 

Cost: £12.00 per person

Family discounts for 2 or more in the same family (£10 per person)

No need to book in advance, you can pay cash or card on the day.

This course is highly recommended for all brown and black belts. We work at an advanced level throughout the course and it is your opportunity to meet and train with other students at a high level. It will be challenging but enjoyable.

Please bring your attendance cards and licenses so that we can record your attendance. You will also need your mitts and pads.

Grading candidates do need to book onto the grading so that we can have your belts, scoresheets and certificates prepared. Ask your Sensei for more information if you think you are eligible for grading. Spectators and supporters are welcome to watch.

Kata and Kumite Squad Classes

Kata Squad takes place tonight at Thornleigh Salesian College, Sharples Park, Bolton. BL1 6PQ. Pay on the night. There will also be a Kata Squad class on Monday 27th Feb.

Kumite Squad takes place on Monday 20th Feb at the same venue.

All students are welcome at these classes even if you just want to gain a little extra experience. We have a couple of comps coming up in March and April so let's get ready.

RTK Online Shop

For those who may not be aware we have an online shop where you can purchase just about anything karate related for your karate kid! We have an offer on Karate uniforms (gi's) for those who need to buy 2 uniforms or more. Click here to see family bundles..... Our uniforms are high quality and won't shrink in the washer. They come complete with a belt and club badge to be sewn on the left chest.

You can also purchase or renew licenses, find kumite equipment, bags and club clothing.

You are able to have items shipped to your home address or choose to collect at class as our Instructors meet to train on Mondays.

Dojo Login Family Accounts

We are able to link family members on the Dojologin App. This makes it quicker and easier to book your classes. You can scroll through both accounts whilst only being signed into one. If you would like to be linked together as a family please email Rachael at info@redtigerkarateclub.co.uk and I will sort this for you.
