Xander Matanle wins the Kath Head Award

Following our Club Championships the Instructor team were all asked to nominate their choice for the recipient of the Kath Head award. This award was started in memory of Kath Head who sadly passed away in February 2023. She was a staunch supporter of our Squad and loved our Tournaments. She was an inspiration to us all, giving her best everytime she wore her Gi, always smiling and supporting others. We decided to create this award and give it out after each tournament to the person we feel carries on her positivity and never ending effort!

Catherine Johnson was the lucky recipient at our July Championships.

Xander Matanle from our Darwen Dojo was nominated by our Instructor Team and received his award on Monday evening.

Xander loves being part of our Club and is always an inspiration at Tournaments. He enters everything he can and puts in 110% effort! He supports others, accepts decisions and has an excellent Attitude. We are so pleased for you Xander, this is fully deserved. I think it is safe to say he was surprised that he was chosen and here he is looking very happy with his trophy…………
