Commonwealths and AMA Championships Results
Our Squad have had a busy couple of weeks with back to back competitions.
The Commonwealth Club Karate Championships took place on the 9th, 10th and 11th September in Birmingham. The following Sunday the Amatuer Martial Arts Asociation held their competition in Bury.
Both comps were an excellent opportunity for our Squad members to gain some valuable mat time and good experience.
We want to congratulate all those who took place in the competitions:
Commonwealths: Grace Baron Sensei, Izzy Baron, Lola Girault, Ellis Pindoria-Stott, Jaime Pratley, Lola Fellone, Georgie Dyal, Sophie Lever (on her birthday!), Aaron Jefferson, Isaac Whittaker, Greg Burton and Joshua Mangnall.
AMA Championships: Lola Girault, Greg Burton, Lola Fellone, Jaime Pratley, Isaac Whittaker, Joshua Mangnall, Sophie Lever, Rob Head Sensei, Loui D’ Attorre and Charlotte Griffiths.
All represented the Club brilliantly as usual. They put 100% effort into their performances and did the themselves, their families and the Club proud!
Win, lose or draw, you will always learn. Competitive karate can be frustrating at times and you’ll have good days and bad days.
I like to think of it as a jigsaw, just keep plugging away, adding piece by piece. Gain experience, get your face out there and let those judges see how brilliant you are. You will keep improving with a positive attitude and determined mindset.
Huge thanks as always to the Coaches Mike Baron Sensei, Grace Baron Sensei, Gary Pratley Sensei, Paul Wolstencroft Sensei, Rob Head Sensei and one of our most senior students and highly experienced former competitor Lori-Ann Moran. Without your guidance week in week out and support on the day, this wouldn’t be possible.
Thanks also to Julie Moran our Squad Treasurer for her hard work organising our entries. You are a star :-)
We have around 6 weeks to go until our RTK Club Championships on 6th November and Manchester Youth Open taking place on Sunday 20th November. This will round off what has been a busy and successful year for our competitors. Keep pushing and working hard everyone.
We are pleased to report we won a fair few medals and had a great time together, here are some pics from our weekends:
