Bank Holiday Timetable & April Newsletter
April Newsletter
We have plenty of news and events coming up over the next couple of months to keep you busy and motivated. We have a reduced timetable this weekend so please check if your usual class is actually running open setting off.
We have the results from the BKF 4 Nations Championships and booking details for a Fitness Bootcamp and Brown and Black Belt Course taking place next Sunday 24th April with Paul Wolstencroft Sensei. We also have a huge announcement regarding our first RTK Club Championships since 2019!
Let’s start by congratulating everyone who has recently passed their first or next kyu grades. The standard overall has been high and the examiners are very impressed. Keep up the great work everyone. We have five gradings left to complete, any students who have missed their grading due to illness, holidays or injury can rebook by contacting us via email: info@redtigerkarateclub.co.uk.
Kyu Gradings will continue to take place in classes approximately every 4 months. This does not mean that you will be expected to grade every 4 months, it just means your class will get a visit from a Senior Instructor/Grading Examiner. You have to put the work in to be ready if you want to be ready to grade on time. No missing lessons, no slacking in class. Your Instructor will decide when you are ready to grade.
We would also like to wish lovely Leesa Beckwith Sensei a speedy recovery from her recent eye operations. We are all missing you and will be so happy to have you back bossing us all in a few weeks time :-) Karate is not the same without you bird!

Well done to Grace Baron, Izzy Baron, Lola Girault, Georgie Dyal, Molly Austin-Hogsden, Aaron Jefferson, Jaime Pratley who were all selected to compete on the day. They had worked tirelessly to prepare for this event and they all put in their best on the day. Thanks also to Mike Baron Sensei and Gary Pratley Sensei for their coaching efforts and supporting our team.
Grace won a Bronze Medal in the Senior Female Kata Category which is an enormous achievement. She came 3rd in the Great Britain. Amazing work Grace we are so pleased that your hard work has paid off. You deserve this recognition for all your efforts!

RTK Club Championship - Sunday 26th June 2022
This will be our very First Club Championship since 2019! We couldn't be more excited!
We are delighted to announce we have booked a date for our Club Competition where all our members are invited to take part in Kata and/or Kumite events.
There are categories for everyone from beginners & novice competitors to Black Belts & Squad Members. We want to see all our youngest whippersnappers, our golden oldies and everyone in between coming together and having a go! You'd be up against students from RTK dojos across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire.
We match students of a similar age and grade to try and keep our categories as small and as fair as possible.
We have ordered over 150 high quality bespoke medals and they would look fantastic around your neck! Win, lose or draw there is a large certificate for anyone who takes part. Entry will be online this year and booking will be opening in May.
Our Championship is just for fun, a light introduction for everyone to have a go at competitive karate. It is a fantastic day where you can spend time with your karate mates and support each other as you go out on the mats.
Obviously the higher the grades, the more serious it gets but we are all out of practise and for many this will be your first ever competition. There has never been a better time to try for a medal.
We are also bringing back the Instructor trophy. Reigning champions are currently Emma and Daryl Sensei! Your Instructor will get points if you enter and get extra points for any medals you win.
One thing is for certain, you have to be in it to win it and you might just surprise yourself. Do you think you've got what it takes to be one of our Kata or Kumite Champs?
